The Brief
The NRMA engaged eLumina to supply D2 DC fast-charging infrastructure as part of upgrades to its public EV charging network. The project included replacing an existing Tritium charger at one site and deploying additional D2 chargers across the network.
The Problem
Tritium experienced challenges with its deployed units, which have a high proportion of bespoke components, and lacked the capacity to maintain and service the infrastructure satisfactorily. This unreliability was deemed a deterrent to EV drivers using the existing charging network as it can trigger ‘range anxiety’.
Our Solution
- eLumina supplied its Australian-supported D2 DC fast chargers, featuring:
- Australian-based technical support
- Readily available electrical and electronic components to assist with ongoing maintenance
- Remote hardware monitoring
- Local service support through our partner Addelec
Deployment
Three D2 DC fast chargers were deployed across the NRMA public charging network, including one installation replacing an existing Tritium charger. The project demonstrated eLumina’s ability to deliver locally supported charging infrastructure backed by Australian engineering, commissioning and after-sales service.
Outcome
The deployment provided the NRMA with additional Australian-supported DC fast-charging infrastructure while demonstrating eLumina’s capability to deliver reliable charging solutions backed by local technical expertise and responsive service.
