The Brief
Essential Energy is an energy network provider providing electricity for over 900,000 customers in regional and remote areas of New South Wales and Southern Queensland. To ensure power is available for customers across their network, Essential Energy has regional depots which store critical infrastructure and are home to its fleet of EV trucks and heavy vehicles.
The Problem
Essential Energy needed a solution to enable fast charging of EV trucks and heavy vehicles at several sites in regional NSW, that minimised charging downtime and maximised fleet utilisation. Also, the solution needed to be scalable to accommodate future growth of the EV fleet.

- 5 x D1 Ultra-Fast Battery Integrated Electric Vehicle Chargers (BIEVCs)
Deployment
The D1 chargers provide fast-charging capability for Essential Energy’s Heavy EV fleet.
Outcome
Essential Energy’s Heavy EV fleet enjoys an increased fleet efficiency through lower fuel and maintenance expenses, reducing operating costs. This eLumina deployment also supports Essential Energy’s corporate sustainability goals, enhancing their brand reputation.
