The Brief

Parkwood Village is a mixed-use precinct on the Gold Coast offering a range of amenities, including a golf course, dining, entertainment, and event spaces. The complex was looking for an EV charging solution to attract a new cohort of visitors.

The Problem

With Parkwood Village expanding its golf course, building a golf clubhouse, and planning to build a surf park, it is set to increase its power demand; therefore, it required a future-proofed EV charging solution that offers maximum efficiency with minimal demand on the grid.

Our Solution

• The D1 Battery-integrated EV Charger which requires only 10-40 kW input from the grid for a fast DC 160 kW charge, enabling stable fast charging, while managing demand from the grid
• Ongoing management and maintenance of charging infrastructure by eLumina

Deployment

The D1 charger enables a full car charge at twice the speed of an 80 kW charger. There is also an option to integrate with future battery and energy management systems.

The charging infrastructure’s integration with the eLu charging network app enables users to book ahead to reserve their charging spot, facilitating Parkwood Village’s effective management of the site.

Outcome

Since installation, the D1 charging pod is attracting new, high-value customers for whom EV charging is a key amenity. Parkwood Village is reaping the financial benefits of people stopping to charge their car, as they now stay to enjoy the village’s other facilities.
